Postcard from Antibes!

So my husband came early from his business trip to surprise me with tickets to FRANCE! Not just anywhere in France, but Antibes! The only time I ever was in Antibes was looking at our Slim Aarons photo of Hotel du Cap Eden in our living room (sigh), but now I get to discover it!

Antibes is located right between Monaco and Cannes. So I suggest you rent a car and go along the coast (aka French Riviera), if you have the time. I only had a few days so we mainly stayed at the hotel.  Our hotel we the beautiful and famous Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc.

Upon entering the hotel we were greeted by this gorgeous table display. Even though my favorite color is green, it was purple that day!

We were also introduced to BrunoPhillip who works at the hotel. He told us the history about the hotel and how it has been around for over 100 years! It became more glamorous after the 18th century when the Lumiere brothers started to shoot their movies here. It has been a destination since for film makers. I can now understand why Grace Kelly fell in love. Its hard not to. I tried to look up prices of homes while vacationing- and let me tell you- its NOT cheap. Maybe moving tomorrow isn't ideal, but I can figure something out for retirment.

"No filter needed"

Was my caption when I posted the photo on instagram. Most restaurants had views of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. You can drink your wine and watch the million dollar yachts pass by. For a moment I forgot that I flew in coach class and I would have to wake up at 5am in a few days for work. Yet, it was the perfect escape!

To travel to Antibes from Los Angeles (where I'm located), you fly into Nice. From there its only 30 minutes by car.  I suggest for the first timers to France to spend time along the coast. The coast is known as the French Riviera or Cote d'Azur is the Mediterranean coast of southeastern France.
